My school is high poverty/inner city and all of the children qualify for free lunch. My class is an ELL kindergarten classroom of 25 children including refugee students who have suffered extreme hardships coming to the U.S. The majority of the children come from single family homes. My children have limited access to outside services and agencies to help with social, medical and other support services. Despite their hardships, they are eager to learn, kind, curious, energetic and wonderful children.
