My first grade students come from many places and backgrounds. With such a diverse population, the students place an emphasis on learning about and respecting each others cultures. The children also value academic achievement. They deserve programs and materials that will assist them in becoming successful, lifelong learners. Unfortunately, reduced state funding and our current economy severely impact the children's learning.
