Central High School is an incredible school full of intelligent, creative students who have the potential to be the leaders of tomorrow, if given the right opportunities. It is a traditionally African-American school, which takes great pride in its history, and boasts Muhammad Ali among its many great and successful alumni. It is a low-income public school, with 100% of the students receiving free lunch. Yet, every year, we insure that 100% of our seniors are accepted into college before walking out of our hallowed halls for the final time. As an English teacher, it is my job to make sure they are entering into the world with the skills they will need to think critically and communicate their ideas to others.
