My students range from 9th-12th grade. I teach in a public school in Pennsylvania. The community surrounding the school is classified as low income. When assigning a project or an activity, in class time has to be given because of lack of support and funding at home that provides the students with the correct materials needed to complete assignment. Teaching history requires covering more information that needs to be presented to the students than other classes. Having the students work on projects such as timelines, posters, creating newspapers and game boards is a more engaging way for them to learn. The students enjoying working on projects and sharing their thoughts and ideas with the class throughout the school year. With budget cuts and less supplies order, I am in need of supplies to meet the needs of my students.
