By having a wide variety of high interest books for my students to read, I am hoping to motivate them to read more often and for a longer period of time. It is only by reading that they will become good readers. Since there is such a variety of different reading levels and interests in our room, these classroom libraries will help in allowing students a greater choice on content and reading levels. If students find a topic that grabs their interest, they are more likely to stick with it and read until the end. This will help to build stronger readers with greater reading stamina. It is a fact that the more students read the more their vocabulary and comprehension will increase. Reading allows children to explore places they have never been.
