At the end of the school year, sixth graders challenge the teachers to a softball game. It is a very fun end of the year activity. For the last four years, the students lost the challenge. I think the reason the students are not winning is because they do not have the opportunity to practice during the school year, due to lack of equipment. Most of the students live in apartments, and they do not have parks to practice at after school. We are a Title 1 school, which means that most students are disadvantaged, and they come from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
