My students attend a Charter Dual Immersion school. From the moment they walk into kindergarten they learn to speak in Spanish and English. They are unique in that they enjoy reading challenging books in either language. We have book clubs at school and their discussions on the books are incredible. Even though many of these kids have busy schedules with sports or family time, they always make time for reading at home just for fun. It brings a smile to my face when they tell me what a great book it was they read and want another book similar to it.
