I have 14 intelligent fourth graders. Some come bused in from far away neighborhoods, some walk from the neighborhood. Most of my students are Latino and are English learners, the rest of my students are African American who are learning Mainstream English. We are a low income and low performing San Francisco Public School. My goal is to close the achievement gap. My students have many challenges at home so I make my classroom a safe, pleasant, place where children can read from lots of wonderful books.

About my class
