My students represent every corner of the Earth and they speak more than 10 different languages. They all live near or below the poverty level. Most of them receive free or reduced lunch, as well as breakfast. We are a Title I school, with low parental involvement in the school. Back to School Night and Parent/Teacher conferences are sparsely attended. However, despite all of this, these students want to learn and are interested in the pursuit of knowledge. Most of them do not have access to Internet or other sources of technology outside of the classroom.
