My students come from a variety of cultural backgrounds, which I like to try to highlight in my instruction. My school district is in a low socioeconomic area, and too many of my students fall into the "homeless" and "free lunch" categories. They do not have much support at home in terms of getting help with their homework, so my lessons need to be powerful and memorable.
