Students at our school have chosen to participate in a rigorous mathematics program. The school offers a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) program where all students take 4 years of math, science, and humanities, as well as 4 years of pathway classes that focus on Engineering, Computer Science, or Biomedical. Our school serves a high poverty urban community. We are a diverse community of learners coming from many socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Unlike students in other under-served communities, nearly half of our students are able to access AP Statistics or AP Calculus by their senior year. We are preparing many students of color and low income students for college and careers in STEM fields. We need these calculators for all students to succeed in AP Math!!!
