My fourth grade students attend our K-5 school in Orange County, California. They are enthusiastic, creative, energetic, intelligent young people who LOVE to share their thoughts, dreams, and experiences. During a typical school day, many would talk, share, draw, and perform the entire time if given the chance. However, with content standards and performance assessments dictating much of our curriculum, those types of activities often receive minimal time and attention. In order to direct and refine those "want-tos" with the "have-tos", I would like to introduce an iPod Touch and speaker system. Not only would students be able to record, edit, and share their thoughts, presentations, and illustrations, but they would also be able to practice fluency and diction. There are a myriad of apps addressing music and art, as well as fluency.
