The students in our class are a wide range of ages and abilities but they all share one thing in common: a desire to learn. They simply love school, and it shows on their faces every morning when they arrive. Our school is located in a working class neighborhood near a busy port. Concrete, asphalt, and smokestacks dominate the surrounding landscape. Our classroom, much like our school, is a bright, warm, and welcoming place that provides a friendly and safe environment for students to learn and grow. My challenge as a teacher is to make learning accessible to my students, and meet them where they are so we can move on to the next level together.
