My art students are a smorgasbord of abilities, interests, backgrounds and goals. Art is a unifying element that gives each one of them an avenue to express themselves. Our 9-12th grade high school in southern California is home to new immigrants from a wide variety of cultures as well as students who live in upper middle class neighborhoods. We have the full range of socio-economic categories in our 1,700 population. We have Spanish Two-Way Immersion Program, MUN, International Baccalaureate, AP and a rigorous college prep schedule. We have earned a National Blue Ribbon and Redbook's Top 100 School status, as well as being selected one of World News Report's Outstanding Schools. Our students are keenly interested in the Arts and their creativity has resulted in numerous awards in art contests and festivals. It is important that my student's artwork is displayed proudly in the community and they are active in art projects both on our campus and in the community. We celebrate creativity!
