At an 83% poverty rate, our school is demographically the neediest in our district. About 49% of our students have English as their second language. On top of that, my kids are the special needs kids. Even with all of these hurdles, my kids come to class daily with a positive attitude and a desire to learn. Most of my students have what I call "HOLES" . They have missed out on a variety of learning and we are constantly going back and trying to fill in those missed learning opportunities. Each day is a challenge in one way or another for my kids. And each day they continue to strive and do the best they can!
