The students who would benefit from this art activity are approximately 140 fourth and fifth graders from low socioeconomic homes most of whom are second language learners. They attend a public school in California with approximately 650 students. The school has made impressive academic growth in the past 5 years, but the focus has been on academics and not artistic processes. In the past, Disney Enabling Grants, now Disney CREATE Grants Program, have enabled these students to create original works of art by funding supplies needed for art activities. Without grants and donations, supplies for these original works of art would not be possible.

About my class
