My students are 6th and 7th graders who come from low income neighborhoods outside Salt Lake City. They come to Alianza to experience our unique blend of online curriculum and hands-on project learning. Each student has an individualized learning plan so that they can learn core subjects at their own pace and then take their knowledge and apply it to exciting hands-on projects. My students are starting to encounter more and more complex math problems, and need the tools to work on them both individually and as a group. My group of students needs some extra work on math, so using white boards we are able to work through more problems together. Using the white boards will allow students to tutor one another and work efficiently on a variety of problems. A digital projector will make our studies complete by turning individual work into a classroom discussion.
