National Teen Read Week is just around the corner (October 14-20) and it's a time to celebrate reading for fun and to encourage teens to take advantage of all forms of reading. I'm asking the teens in our building, our 8th graders, to join in a conversation about what they want to read, book recommendations for others and tips for getting more teens to read. Our group of 8th graders will choose some new teen novels to purchase for the library based on what they've read or want to read and as a group will suggest ways to keep teens reading for fun! The Rutland Town PTO is financially committed to supporting this project and I am hoping that Donor's Choose will join us in encouraging teens to make reading a life long experience by helping us to purchase the new and upcoming teen literature that is being published for them!
