My school is located in the inner city area of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The students who are enrolled there come from various social-economic backgrounds. My particular assigned group of students is among the population that represents the 40% percentile group on the Pennsylvania’s State standardized test in both reading and math. This target population of students has been identified as needing immediate intensive instruction and will benefit greatly from an array of remedial resources which is tailored to address their individual needs in reading, writing and math. Materials, manipulative and resources that are provided for the students are usually selected for the average student on a third grade level and often times, not on their instructional level. With that said, being able to have materials and resources that would cover a student’s instructional level , as well as reaches across many other learning levels, would be prove to be most beneficial for my students.
