My students are a creative, energetic group of young people from the South Bronx. For the art project, we'll be coming together to paint, to inspire ourselves, challenge our selves and free ourselves through words, images and the process of art-making and art-sharing. We're hoping that our art will be a part of something that inspires our school community by honoring the life and words of local leaders and poets, like Ella Baker, Piri Thomas and Miguel Pinero.

About my class
