I currently teach a wonderful group of amazing elementary students with autism. This year they are all learning virtually due to COVID-19. They are hard workers that learn best with hands-on materials, however, they are adapting and learning technology this year. They enjoy all subject areas but mostly Math and Art time. Each day they show up ready to learn and excited to see what new activities they get to work on. In my class, they not only work on academic learning areas but also how to appropriately function within the general population. They learn skills such as appropriate behaviors in different settings, how to follow routines and structures, and even daily life skills to become as independent as possible.

About my class
