The most important life lessons is the ability to recognize the value of each individual. Helen Keller once said, "Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much." In today's global society this is essential. Our program facilitates personal and interpersonal growth (communication, problem-solving, trust-building, risk-taking, and cooperation)work with others as a part of a team for thousands of students every school year. Teamwork starts with effectively communication. This critical social skill is useful both in and out of the classroom. By learning to express their own ideas and opinions effectively students succeed no matter their career choice or social situation. Teamwork also requires students listen, an essential first step in effective communication. Active listening promotes dialogue that is respectful of others and is necessary in today's classrooms. Knowing that they are being heard gives children of all ages a sense of worth and encourages participation. Being a member of a team that cares about and is supportive helps reduces acts of bullying and its effects. Employers also prefer employees who have these skills. Studies have shown that employees who work well with others are happier and more productive in their jobs.
