I teach a group of students who have special needs and also a group who are enrolled in general education. These children are mainstreamed together for a lot of classes and activities. We are a public charter school that offers home-based, site-based and independent study, so my students interact with me and each other in a variety of ways. We meet together for classes, we experience our community and we learn in our homes also! The best part is that we also share our learning experiences with the parents and the siblings. A majority of my students are at-risk and have various levels of special education needs.
