Three out of four of my students last year were on free/reduced breakfast and lunch. They didn't (couldn't) bring snacks for the two snack times we have each day. These 5th Graders are growing and need to fuel their bodies so their brains can think! Food = Brain Power! Last school year, my class had eaten approximately 900 granola bars by March! Less than 100 of those were donated by parents of kids that didn't even eat the granola bars/snacks, but they recognized our need. My kids needed to eat to focus, so I ALWAYS had snacks in my room. This year, I'm asking for some help providing for those snacks.
