I am a teacher at a low performing school in a program improvement district. My students come from a high poverty neighborhood. The problems that we face most as a professional learning community are conquering the language barrier and providing advanced hands-on enrichment materials to our students. It is my hope to create a learning environment where hands-on learning is so much fun, that it supersedes the language barrier and encourages students to advance academically through intrinsic motivators.
