My students are from Oakland, CA where I teach grades 30 eager 4th graders. Our student body consists mainly of Hispanic and African-American students and most are from low income earning families. Our students are able to gain success even though statically our society says they should not. All students deserve the right to an education that is equal and faur. Unfortunately, this is not the true. Even within the same district, students and schools have obstacles that are hard to overcome. All school district have the haves and haves not. I am work with those who have not, but still strive to best their best. Our school does not have donors who could or would donate thousands and thousands of dollars. We also are not able to raise this type of money even when fundraising. This is where you come in. Help to make the playing field a look more even for all of our students.
