My class is a bright and energetic group of 36 pre k students. They are in a school readiness language development program in an elementary school in South Los Angeles. The whole student population of over 850 students is on a free lunch program. The kindergarten playground that my students play on is completely empty except for a few painted yellow hopscotch lines. The students have been taught to play outside games like "Duck Duck Goose' and "Green Light, Red Light" and they use their imaginations to "fly" around the yard or make a cake out of dirt and leaves. The students are always eager to go outside but they need some outdoor equipment to help develop their bodies and minds.
