Did you ever think about what was going on in the world when you were in fifth grade? We would love to be able to read articles from Time Magazine to help us understand important events that are going on around us. My students are a very diverse group that comes from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. They face so many challenges throughout their daily lives; however, each of them understand and value the importance of education. Not only is it my job to educate them, but it is my job to create a safe and fun learning environment. Through the joy of reading, I am able to put their outside lives aside and help them enter a new world. My class has a love for reading and learning and we will make every minute of our education worth it! “Education is a social process. Education is growth.
