My students are Lakota from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. They attend a Lakota culture immersion school, and the rich history and values of the reservation is an important part of our daily schooling. My students are witty, bright, and funny... and all boys, except for one girl who keeps the balance in our classroom! My students love horses, kickball, and enjoying the incredible outdoors where we live. They also love ghosts, zombies, bigfoot stories, Transformers, and watching lion attacks on youtube. Together, we are working hard to learn to love reading as much as we love all these other things.
