I have an exceptional group of 4th graders! They are eager to learn and to experience new things. They also love technology! Sadly, poverty and unemployment rates are sky high, and our students feel the pressure from peers, even at home. When they are faced with hard times at home, they are more prone to hide their feelings by bullying their peers. I see my students wanting to be successful and do their best; but, situations in our world today cause hardships on families, especially in rural areas. With appropriate information and guidance in school, they will learn ways to deal with their feelings other than bullying. Our unemployment rate is far above the national average, and around 70% of our students, school-wide, are on free or reduced price lunch. Most of my students have no access to computer technology or the internet at home.
