I teach morning kindergarten in a public school that serves more that 50 percent of its students free and reduced lunch. We are considered a high poverty school. In my class of 21 students there are eight different languages spoken, eleven students are learning to speak the English language. Regardless of my students socioeconomic status or mastery of the English language they come to school each day with a smile on their face and full of energy to learn something new.
