Having materials that the students can learn basic alphabet and numbers with would be beneficial to my students. They cannot learn the rote way that you and I learned. Hands-on learning is the best way to teach students with multiple disabilities. Anything they can hold and touch makes it easier for them to understand the concept. My students struggle every day with learning basic concepts such as the alphabet or numbers. Any tool that makes it easier for them to learn is needed and appreciated. It also provides the student with some independence with their learning. Every child deserves to be taught in the way they learn the best. My students happen to learn best by visual and touching.
