My students are from all over the world. Our district has a huge immigrant population, from the Ukraine to Somalia, Nepal to Iraq, Burma to El Salvador and many countries in between. I teach a upperclassman, low skill chemistry class. For some of my students this is their first experience in a science classroom. They have a lust for knowledge and work hard even when they are still struggling to learn the language. Our school has shown incredible improvement on state tests but still lags behind in science. I want my students to have the most relevant science experience possible to get the best chance to succeed in both my classroom and the "real world" outside of high school. Modern equipment can help make that difference
