I am an Elementary Resource Specialist who works with K-5 students in a public school. The students I work with are struggling learners with an IEP (Individualized Education Plan), and they receive special education services. They are students who spend most of their day in a general education classom and I work with them for 45 minutes to 3 hours, 4-5 days pet week, and they are usually grouped by grade level. The students are energetic, full of life, and they just need more time to learn something compared to majority of the students in their class. They are students with different learning disabilities. Some of them have auditory processing delays, visual processing delays, speech and language delays, Autism, ADD/ADHD, or a combination of 2 or more of the disabilities. It's exciting to grab their attention and to get them motivated to learn. They are my inspiration for teaching.
