My students are mostly African-American, from low income families. Many of them face hard economic and social challenges everyday. They are curious, eager to learn, and love trying new things that add to their lives. Our school believes it is important to help students close the gaps they have in their academics, so they can continue to grow. We evaluate them quarterly , make individual plans of action and if needed, they attend mandatory tutoring. We focus on math and science,without dismissing the importance of being strong readers and writers.
