About my class

My students attend an inner city neighborhood school. We are nestled right outside of the downtown area and there are not many trees, parks or places where we can experience nature and science. We are surrounded by two large housing projects and all sidewalks or pavement. We use the Internet to learn about animals, and most of my students come in not knowing more than dog or cat. Sometimes those are even not animals they can name. We want to give our students the experience and opportunity to dive into science, so we have created an entire area of the room for them to explore! We want to give our preschool students the opportunities and experiences in learning science to develop more curiosity about the world around them that they may not get to see outside of our school.
