My students are amazing. They come from severe poverty and have a wide range of cultural backgrounds. The safest and most secure place for them is school. They enjoy school and many do not want to leave at the end of the day due to their home life. They are kindergarten and first graders. They are sweet and innocent and just beginning their school experience. It is my job to make them successful and feel good about their accomplishments. What a better place than in the art room. They have the opportunity to learn about art from around the world and express themselves through their art work. Imagine their excitement when they take home an awesome creation to share with their families!!!

About my class
