We are an active and fun loving group of fourth and fifth-graders in what is considered an inner-city school. Our students come to school with such an appetite for learning, even though they may not have had dinner the night before. We are a Title I School and USED to have 100% Free lunch - all of our students were fed free breakfast and lunch at school, for many the only meals they would have eaten. This year will be vastly different due to cuts in funding. Our students are below the state grade level expectations for reading and writing. Can you concentrate when you are hungry?
