My students attend a public elementary school. Many of them do not have the home background that provides them with the basic things children need to be successful in today's world. Many times they lack the motivation to keep trying since in the past they have met with failure and disappointment. They need to have "fun" learning to want to continue working hard. This is an identified 'poverty area' where a high percentage of our students are on free or reduced price lunches and breakfasts. We know that what happens in our building may be the best that happens to our children during their day. Having new games and activities goes a long way to brightening up their day (and also their teacher's day!!) After the storm many students lost what little they did have. What ever we receive will be greatly appreciated for years to come!!
