Most of my all-day kindergarten students are second language learners. They primarily speak Spanish as a first language, but I have refugee students from Africa too. Most qualify for free and reduced lunches. They are so excited to learn, in spite of the fact that many have never been to pre-school. They attend a Title 1 school on the west side of Salt Lake City, Utah.
