I teach in a 3rd grade ICT classroom in a K-8 school that serves students of diverse populations. My school's core beliefs center around teaching sustainability, social justice, the importance of a growth mindset, and teaching content through exploration. The standards in our classroom are very high, but we always strive to provide the resources our students will need to access the material in a way that is suitable to their individual learning styles and needs. While there is always time in our classroom for silent work and reflection, most of our day includes "structured chaos," during which the room is buzzing with rich discussions and collaborative activities. It is during these times that our students not only learn the most, but when we learn from them, and those are my favorite times as a teacher!
