I work at a low income school. Unfortunately many of my students do not have the support at home. They do not have the resources that most of us had growing up. My students are wonderful kids. They work hard but just don't have the necessary tools yet to be successful readers. The majority are currently reading below grade level. This is due to not having access to books or not reading on their own. They need to learn that reading can be fun by having a wide variety of books to choose from.
