I am a 3rd and 4th grade special education teacher in East Harlem, NY in a high needs school. The students I teach are mostly African American/Black and Hispanic/Latino who live in a high poverty neighborhood. They are mostly English language learners who are very motivated to work and achieve to the best of their abilities. The students I have encountered throughout my years of teaching and the ones I'm hoping to have this upcoming school year have a lot of talents ranging from strong mathematical skills to a love for the arts.
