My students live in a high needs community in FL. As a member of Teach For America, I truly believe that each and everyone of these students has not only the privilege, but the right to the opportunities of a great education. Through poverty, homelessness, hunger, abuse, and neglect, these students struggle day in and day out to come to school, and hopefully get one of the free lunches the school provides. These students have so little, and with the times, they are getting even less. Regardless, these students are smart, brave, encouraging, transformational, loving, and genuine; and they deserve the opportunity to start off on the right foot.
