Our Louisiana school services children at the middle to low income levels with a high percentage of military families. My students are kindergarten and first grade special needs students. The children are not independent learners and require constant interaction with teachers and peers. When technological devices are used, the students become interested in a positive way. They respond to the interaction technology provides. Also, they learn more independently when they feel in control of the learning tool.
