I am currently a sixth year music teacher, who has received a great music education and wants to share my love for music with my students! The middle school band program is restarting after a 6-year hiatus due to budgetary constrictions. We currently have 270 kids enrolled and are growing! The community and administration are extremely supportive. The program services many low-income students and some of the parents do not speak English. The band program is a great way to incorporate all members of the community while getting the students more involved in the tradition and pride of their school district. A beneficial and exciting beginning of a band program is vital to its future success and support. I cannot provide my students with the same quality education that I received with my current resources. With outside donations and my previous experience starting a music program, I know that we will achieve great gains!
