My classroom is in need of different options for flexible seating. During independent work time, students have the ability to move to a spot in the classroom where they feel they can do their best work. Unfortunately, due to the size of our classroom and lack of current seating options, their choices are limited to a desk and chair or a small class carpet. Students are in charge and create THEIR optimal learning environment with flexible seating. Flexible seating will help my students take charge of where they sit during independent practice time. Although this may seem simple, the mere choice of what to sit on, and where to sit, gives students ownership of their work while increasing motivation and engagement. My main focus each day is the success of my students. Flexible seating will give my diverse group of learners different options in our classroom.
