I teach in the largest district in my state serving the neediest population of students. Our school just recently became Title 1 as the needs of our students continue to grow. Our building in particular is unique because it is a perfect picture of the racial and socioeconomic makeup of our city. Which means we have students coming from the most abject poverty in the same class as students whose parents are legacies at Harvard. I teach regular non-honors students, so I definitely see the whole range of abilities. They are fun, challenging, inquisitive, demanding and make for a classroom that is never boring.
