These books will support my reluctant readers who are struggling to keep up with their classmates. At this development age they are mainly concerned with what their peers think of them and as a result often choose books that are far above their reading level for appearances. These high interest lower reading level texts, such as Love Mints, Hank Zipzar, Body Switch, DogMan Unleashed, will keep them engaged and at the same time relieve the built in peer pressure. With the added advantage of some many titles in a series, once a student finds a beloved author or character they can continue to read multiple texts bound to keep their interest. Students will also find a classroom library that is fresh and new with exciting titles and a comfortable and cool space that they will not only be proud of but that they will also feel at home in as an engaged reader.
