My students live in rural Northeast Iowa. They are farm kids, town kids, your typical rural students who love to garden, hunt, and learn about things outside of their sphere of knowledge. They attend a true "country school" one that is not in a specific town, but is in a river valley, surrounded by corn, beans, and an active eagles nest. Our school is the focal point of the community, where teachers and parents are working side by side. It's a place where students know their teachers as more than just teachers, they are members of the library board, part of the local betterment committee, and who are seen on a daily basis outside of school.

About my class
